McDonalds stabbing horror as several people injured and teenage boy arrested The Sun

IT'S feared 'several people' are injured as a teen has been arrested at a McDonald's in Manchester this afternoon following reports of a stabbing.

Police were called to the fast food restaurant in the Harpurhey Shopping Centre at 2.35pm.

A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been taken into custody for questioning.

The North West Ambulance Service told the Manchester Evening News a male was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the leg.

His age is currently not known.

The statement added: "Two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance attended the scene in Harpurhey at around 3.40pm."

Police have said it is not linked to terrorism.

Pictures on social media show a heavy police presence and paramedics outside to restaurant.

One witness said a "college kid" was stabbed following an altercation and their alleged assailant ran into the McDonald's.

They added the alleged attacker had a "massive knife".

'EVERYONE WAS SCREAMING'

One witness said: "Just left McDonald's in Harpurhey swarmed with police and now blue tape around the place.

"The young man who stabbed the student then ran into McDonald's across the road with a massive knife full of blood.

"Everyone was screaming in McDonald's – there is like five police cars and three ambulances around McDonald's.

Another person shared a video online showing what appears to be blood on the floor of the fast food restaurant.

Police said enquiries are on going.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 2.35pm today, police were called to McDonald's in Harpurhey Shopping centre on Rochdale Road to reports of a stabbing.

"A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and has been taken into custody for questioning.

"This is not being linked to terrorism."
