VINYLS have become a hot collector’s item in recent years.
Since the music industry moved away from using vinyl records decades ago, some have become very valuable.

One TikTok vinyl collector named Rob D. (@blackcirclerecordssc) shared three valuable vinyls that were previously sold in stores.
Some of them could be worth hundreds, or even over a thousand dollars.
The Rolling Stones’ Hot Rocks
While this compilation record is relatively common, one early edition of the Stones' vinyl is especially valuable.

The 1971 record, which had alternate versions of the songs “Brown Sugar” and “Wild Horses” were not sold often.

To know if your record is the rare version, check the dead wax, the area around the label, on side four.
The date 11-18-71 is on this spot of the rare version.
In ordinary condition, Rob said, the record could be worth around $75.
However, a record that could be graded as being of “very good plus” or VG+ quality could be worth upwards of $200.

VG+ records have little to no damage on their surface and maintain their sound quality.
Led Zeppelin II
The hot mix version of this record is very valuable.
The early version was pulled off shelves for being louder than most record players could handle, Rob said.

It was later re-released after being toned down.
To find the rare version, look on the dead wax around the label.
If it has the initials “RL,” for mastering engineer Robert Ludwig, it’s worth money.
Rob said even ordinary copies with the initials can be worth money.
“Really beat up copies still sell for $30 to $50,” he said.
VG+ or better copies can sell for up to a thousand dollars.
“Possibly even north of a thousand dollars,” Rob said.
The Beatles’ Yesterday and Today
This is another common album with a rare edition.
The initial cover for the album featured The Beatles covered in broken baby dolls and bloody cuts of meat.

The cover was deemed “too offensive,” Rob said.
As a result, the gory cover was pulled from stores and re-released with a new cover printed on top of the old one.
Careful observers of their vinyl covers may find that their Yesterday and Today album features a vague black triangle.
That’s a sign that the old cover is still underneath, according to Rob.
Rob said he personally sold one such vinyl in VG+ condition for over $1200.
Several members of the Beatles were recently revealed to be among the highest-earning dead celebrities of 2023.
Records aren’t the only antiques going for big bucks — a popular comic edition recently sold for $36,000.
